9 Of The Best Brunch Spots In Richmond, VA

by Discover Richmond Tours

9 Of The Best Brunch Spots In Richmond, VA

If the weekend means one thing, it’s definitely brunch. On what other day of the week can you sleep late, then roll out of bed and into your favorite restaurant for a combination of mimosas and breakfast OR lunch? Richmond takes brunch seriously, and so should you. So, stop wasting your time searching for the perfect brunch spot – we’ve got you covered with our list of the top places to brunch in Richmond!

821 Cafe

821 Cafe, with its funky decor and hipster vibe, is the super cool, slightly weird member of the Richmond brunch family. The inside is small, but the staff is friendly, and the menu’s got all the typical hearty options you’d expect. Our favorites are Big Meaty (potatoes or gritss topped with bacon, ham, sausage, and baked cheese) and the Nutella Stuffed French Toast, which needs no explanation.

Bar Solita

Opened in 2018, downtown’s Bar Solita is a chic mediterranean spot with a seriously fun brunch. The menu is full of unique twists, such as the Chicken and Crepes, and a Bloody Mary cart makes the rounds throughout brunch service. You can also opt for the mimosa flights, which you definitely should.

BRUNCH… JR!

We mean… it’s right there in the name! From the same folks behind Lunch | Supper, comes BRUNCH JR!, featuring exactly what you’d think it would feature: House Biscuits & Gravy, Chorizo con Queso (drool), Corned Beef Hash, all the classic brunch cocktails, and so much more.

Liberty Public House

Liberty Public House, nestled in the old East End Theater in Church Hill, is the perfect neighborhood brunch spot. From egg scrambles to biscuits and gravy, LPH has everything you need to start your weekend day off right (or, you know, grab brunch whenever, since they serve it all day, every day)! Also of note: whatever decadent dessert the kitchen has whipped up on any given day.

You can find Liberty Public House on our Church Hill Food Tour!

Lulu’s

If you could only brunch once in your entire life, Lulu’s should to be on your shortlist of spots to indulge. In fact, brunch hours are the only regular hours this restaurant stays open, so they know how to put on a great brunch. With an interesting selection of beverages, and how-are-they-not-famous red velvet waffles, you’ll find yourself in brunch heaven at this Shockoe Bottom establishment.

Millie’s Diner

The one and only Millie’s Diner often takes top billing when discussing brunch in Richmond, and for good reason. Watch the chefs make your brunch for you in the open kitchen, and enjoy the mini jukeboxes and full-size mimosas while you wait. Reservations aren’t allows, so be sure to arrive at this Church Hill eatery early, or you’ll find everyone else in Richmond already in line ahead of you.

SB’s Lakeside Loveshack & SB’s Main Street Loveshack

SB’s Lakeside Loveshack, and now SB’s Main Street Loveshack, is where brunch dreams come true. Seriously. Where else can you get cinnamon buns the size of a plate, topped with salted caramel maple syrup and cream cheese frosting? Or a B-52, which is Kahlua, Bailey’s, and fresh brewed coffee topped with whipped cream (and sometimes purple glitter!)? We recommend not eating before heading to SB’s – you’ll thank us later.

Sunday Champagne Brunch At The Jefferson Hotel

Okay, so have you really lived in Richmond if you haven’t tried Sunday Brunch at The Jefferson at least once? Every Sunday, the chef creates a gorgeous menu available in buffet form, including everything from traditional breakfast plates to a raw bar, from lavish desserts to a waffle and pancake bar. Seated at a table in the middle of the Rotunda lobby among the marble columns, you’ll enjoy ice carvings, friendly service, a jazz trio, and of course, bottomless champagne.

The Daily Kitchen & Bar

Want to do brunch, but that pesky diet is keeping you home? Sulk, not; The Daily has you covered with a menu full of lighter, healthier, vegetarian-er options! Serving items such as organic granola, quinoa pancakes, gluten-free pizzas, and a host of organic eggs and omelets, nobody gets left out at this Carytown eatery. Note that brunch is only on Sundays at The Daily.

I am new to Richmond I’ve only been here a year and a half and I am just so pleased that you all just showed me some of the great places to eat brunch on Sunday. I look forward to bringing some of the guests that are visiting me in town from Birmingham Alabama to the carytown area. I love can can they have the best quiche Lorraine.

Welcome to the Holy City! I think Richmond and Magic City are very similar.
